| Ok, so it has been something like four months since I wrote in this thing.. oops. The best explanation or excuse if you will.. is I have been busy. Which is sort of true, yet false all at the same time.
March was pretty boring and nothing exciting happened at all. Though I had school, and such, which just pissed me off to no end. Because I had missed so much school with mono, and Rotary, I couldn't miss much more of school. Though in March I was behind in school, again due to missing 2 Fridays for Rotary conferences, one was in Houghton/Hancock the other... in GB. At the end of the month, Julie's sister came and we went to Chicago. We walked around a bit, and then we drove back. We also went to the John Hancock center.. scary. When Freya was here, Julie skipped school, and the next week Freya went to school with us. They spent a day with Becky... good times.. or not. haha! Anyways, Freya left before Easter... and that was the first two weeks of April.
The rest of April went by fast, I had started to study for my AP BIO test, crazy stuff. That test was on May 8th... which I think went well. I know I got atleast a 3 on that. Though I didn't sleep very well the night before. My neighbors were fighting all night, and even though my windows were CLOSED, I could hear them. I hope that I am never like that. So, they kept me up all night, and my lack of sleep did get to me during the exam, but over all I think I did really good on it. I understood most all of the questions, and didn't answer only 5 of them, the rest I could use process of elimination... etc. That made me feel good.
About that time, the countdown to my birthday started. I mean May 8th is only 11 days from my birthday.. So then I turned 18. YESS!!! :) Finally. Getting closer to graduation, and I am legally an adult. We went to the carnival, and got cotton candy, and such on my birthday. Plus pigeon river street days were then... So I walked around that.. It was pretty boring, and the same old same old. I also drove Julie to Iola for a AFS meeting thing, we got lost, but we found our way eventually. Which is amazing.
After my birthday I went to Michigan, on Memorial Day Weekend. I went to Stephensen...where I stayed with Josh.. I met his family and such, that was pretty crazy. They were overall pretty nice.. crazy.. but who's family isn't crazy? Really though, it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be, I was shy, but that is me almost always at first. So yea, I went to Michigan.. all by myself. Yeps good fun!
After that, was exams, I did pretty good, passed, that's all that matters at this point, I graduatated with honors. I also spoke at the 8th grade breakfast, which was pretty sweet. I got free food, from MATTHEWS yum. Graduation was great, I met the alumnus honoris, he was cool, his parents went to NMU.. and he gave me his card, and we have been emailing... so that is a good thing.
The 10th was my party, it went ok... at times I had wished it was only my party, but whatever I can't change that. I had fun, but then it turned into a julie and adult party... So I just went to bed.. No use in sitting up bored eh?... The day after my party, I went up to Michigan, again. I drove to Stephensen on Sunday, and then I drove to Marquette on Monday, for orientation. Orientation was pretty boring, but what can you say.. all orientations are like that. On Wednesday I drove back to Stephensen, and then Thursday we (meaning Josh, me, and his dad) went back to Marquette. I got a 'tour' and then we helped clean out the basement at his mom's house... and took smoe of his dad's things, that was only a day trip thing.. but it was fun, we went to the top of mt.mqt. pretty sweet. Then we drove back to Stephensen... I left when Josh left for work... at 5 in the morning.. on Friday.
On top of all that, I have a new baby cousin, Sydney Rose, she was born June 7th at 3ish in the afternoon. She is very very cute! :)
And finally. Julie leaves us TOMORROW :( No. I won't let her. well.. I have to let her. But I don't have to like it.

| So, the RYE conference, was a total blast.. I got to miss school on Friday to drive there myself. I got to Green Bay around 9:45 in the morning, and I was the first Rebound from my group (2004-05 outbounds) to show up. There was a bunch of us, like 20 rebound/rotex people there, and that was probably the biggest group ever. It was pretty much amazing!
Friday, we were shipped off after a short welcome meeting, to go roller skating at a pretty dodgy place called Rolla-rena or some such, pretty much it was like a place for 5 year olds, but that is ok, the Inbounds had a good time. We somewhat taught Baird how to roller blade.. atleast he didn't fall. We also had "cultural concerns" and "women only" break out sessions. Those are where we tell the people about what you can and cannot find in your host country. Though rebounds were not at the "cultural concerns" meeting, only the gender break out sessions. Pretty much, we just talked about what female products you can and cannot find in certain places, and what drinking rules and stuff are for girls in certain places. Not so much fun... but a much needed thing I think. Dinner that night, was mardi gras theme, and we had beads and such, plus Steven decided he needed to sing for us, and it was good food. Yummy. I want to move to New Orleans for the food.. ok not really, but it was good food. Then we heard the "build the best snowman you can" speach from Paige Weting again. It was good the first time, and the second time, it was a bit repetative, but still good, and so true.
Saturday... Well, we (rebounds/rotex) woke up for an 8am departure to go to IHOP, where we ate breakfast, and then returned to the hotel. At IHOP, Jadah (Norway), Christina (Sweden), me (Finland),and Bethani (Finland), talked about cheese slicers, which are pretty much the best things ever. Down with knives, up with cheese slicers. We laughed our asses off, and had tears. Good times. After breakfast, we went back to the hotel, for a meeting thing, however, I went to sleep and was woken up abrubtly.. to work, then they told me I had nothing to do. How uncool is that. Evil. After doing nothing all morning, we had geographic breakout sessions, where it was Sarah, Isakki, Bethani, and myself all from/went to Finland, and Toni who went to Denmark and Terje from Norway, plus Sam the 2006-07 outbound to Finland from D6220, and her mother. Her mother seemed overly concerned, but I saw no reason to be so worried. Apparently she really didn't want to go to Finland, which is kind of not a good thing. So, well, then we just tried to convince her that it's a great place. She seemed really shy, and well, that is not the greatest thing in the world, because well in Finland that's not a good thing becuase Finns are really really shy themselves. I am almost worried about her. After all this, I manned the Rotex store for about 2 hours, and then got ready for dinner. I had to sew my pants, so that they didn't have a hole in them anymore. Which is a good thing. Dinner was good, sat with the same assigned seats, which was kind of strange. But I will not go into that one. After dinner was the variety show, which was amazing. We had a Rotex skit thing, that I wasn't in, but helped create. It went with the "Twas the night before becoming an exchange student" poem, and Amy and Baird both did a "dance" thing to it, with the gypsy dance... ahahaha good times. After all that, lets just say, the pool.. was pretty active.. and people were unvolluntarilly thrown in.
Sunday... well, because we were up well past 12.. ok well past 3, becuase bed checks were at 2:30 and we had a Rebound/Rotex meeting then. It was pretty much tiring. I was out of it, and put in the notebook for pretty stupid comments, but that's ok, at least I didn't end up with the button! Anyways, we woke up late, as in like we missed breakfast, and I lost my shoes.. temporarily. I was told they wouldn't serve me breakfast, but I ate anyways, and then we had a meeting with John Weting, and then a closing session. It was pretty fun. At the closing ceremony, we had to say good-bye to Luc, as our president, and Steven cried, but that's ok... We got our Rotex t-shirts, and officially became Rotex... So no more "termination" for me! HA! They can't get rid of me now!!!
So that was my weekend.. Now I need to go to bed. It was a long weekend...
